Over two decades ago, a small group of young families came together to find a deeper faith than what we experienced for ourselves as professional ministry leaders within a wide gamut of denominations. We found when your paycheck is connected to your spirituality, despite the best of intentions, relational honesty and vulnerability take a back seat to practicality.
In 2002, we left all of that behind us and started a small house church with a simple focus.
No artificial constraints. No measurements outside of the fruits of the Spirit. Just a sincere faith we could become the kind of people capable of following Jesus. And fulfill the greatest of all commandments: to love God with all our heart, mind, and soul, and love our neighbor as ourselves.
Our goal was genuine holistic spiritual formation.
With each step in this new direction, our thinking began to shift from a framework of building an organization to nurturing a living organism. Our little experiment became known as Liquid Community.
This is an ongoing record of what we have learned and continue to learn along the way.
